Posted in Uncategorized

Bite Size Entertainment and OgilvyAction have been chosen to drive the launch the world’s first, consumer 360° camera by tamaggo.

Since its inception in 2011, with the visionary guidance it president Jean-Claude Artonne, tamaggo has been bringing the best people and resources together to create the world’s first one click, consumer 360° image & video capture device, the ibi 360.

Even before hitting the market, this product is already making waves. tamaggo was awarded with the “Design and Engineering Showcase” title for their prototype last January, during the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Working with the best minds, tamaggo is becoming one of the largest and fastest growing start-up companies in Canada. Believing that this new concept will bring people together through simplicity, tamaggo has been leading manufacturers, social media developers, investors and supplier collaboration to give momentum to its launch.

To develop its ibi 360 and brand identity and activation strategies tamaggo has joined forces with OgilvyAction, the brand activation arm of Ogilvy & Mather. Winning the Cannes Lions 2012 Network of the Year as well as other accolades, the Ogilvy Group has the resources and talent to create a notable international presence for tamaggo.

Bite Size Entertainment has been chosen as tamaggo’s interactive marketing, social media strategy and strategic alliances partner. The young agency was awarded a grand prize for best content strategy and a prize for best social media campaign, last November during the interactive Boomerang awards.

With a proven track record for developing interactive and experiential marketing ideas, both agencies, which share offices, are working in synergy, leading the global development of tamaggo from Montreal.

As 2013 just started, tamaggo is making the final touches on its manufacturing forefront. When it makes its debut in the third quarter of 2013, tamaggo will let consumers capture their experiences, as real as they see it, so they can share it with the world.

—-

Posted in Uncategorized

Your mobile became your main entertainment and work tool. Can you only imagine your life without it? As a key component of your lifestyle, here are 5 innovations that will eventually make your mobile even more essential.

1. Mobile payment with Google Wallet

”Google Wallet is an app that makes your phone your wallet. Tap, pay, and save with virtual cards and offers on your phone.”

In beta testing in NYC and SF, this truly represents one of the first steps in mobile payment direct interaction. Google brings payment to the next level and I would not be surprised to see a high penetration rate in early adopters that will trigger to a mass consumer hit.

According to Doc Searls, this is ”the most important thing Google has launched since the search engine”

2. M-Couponing with Retail Common

When French web influencer Jean-Francois Ruiz says that m-couponing is one of the next big thing, you gotta trust the man!

Based in Toronto, Canada, Retail Common is a service for business that enables them to create and distribute mobile coupons to customers. Any type of business can therefore publish coupons and leverage their owned media platform; website, facebook, twitter, mobile app… One of the main advantages of mobile coupons is also its shareability within consumers. This is the functionality I like the most, if there is a good deal worth sharing, I’d like to be the one sending it to my friends.
Follow Retailcommon

3. Fidelity card on your mobile with Fidall

Only in France and strictly available on iPhone as we speak, Fidall, winner of France’s Startup Academy, is already a success. With more than 300 000 downloads in France, Fidall is the ultimate solution to keep and use your fidelity cards says founder Yann Casanova.
In a recent meeting with a client, we were discussing whether or not their CEO should be in the spotlight. As most CEOs are in the public eye, whether they like it or not, few are open to share and ignite the possibilities given by creating their owned media. In fact, according to Forrester Research’s CEO George Colony, None of the CEOs of Fortune Magazine’s top 100 global corporations have a social profile.

I am still surprised to witness such reluctance from top executives and CEOs when it comes time to share stories and communicate with their employees and customers through web platforms. As chief story teller, an expression coined by Peter Guber*, every CEO has a responsibility to lead the discussion around their company. *Check out the power of storytelling in his latest book Tell to win.

Each CEO should therefore embrace a personal communication strategy based on building their owned media channels. This would enable them to :

Build their personal brand

Engage rapidly with their peers

Inspire troops

Learn from direct feedback

Create business opportunities

There are many strategies and many tools that can be used to achieve such. The essential tools (and mostly free) are :

Personal Blog on company’s website

An amazing way to share stories and insights! A blog can be used to position a CEO as the industry leader. It is a very authentic way to communicate and get your message across. The way Google uses their blog represents a great example. Blog updates coming from Chairman Eric Schmidt or from other employees are relevant for Google to communicate insights on products, technology and culture.

Videos featuring CEO

This couldn’t be more authentic! It’s also a great way to generate trust, respect and leadership to the corporate team. A good example is Zurich financial service group CEO’s James Schiro who used YouTube to communicate with his 60 000 employees during the 2009 financial crisis.

Profile on Facebook

Yours to decide if this should be exclusive to friends and family, but opened, or especially a fan page, can become a great way to interact. With nearly 4 million fans, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg demonstrates the full potential of how a CEO can communicate using Facebook.

Profile on LinkedIn

The ultimate professional network tool, LinkedIn is a vast community. It also represents an efficient way to promote blog posts and tweets to industry executives.

Twitter account

Allows direct communication and announcement in real time. Really powerful to share blog updates.

Interesting CEOs using Twitter:

Doug Ulman (livestrong) – @livestrongceo

Peter Guber (Mandalay Entertainment) – @peterguber

Michael Arrington (TechCrunch) – @arrington

There will always be risk of an online presence, but as social media changes the way we interact, consume and do business; the trade off is good, and not participating is a greater risk.

Tomorrow’s business leaders are already embracing social networking and are creating their owned channels of communication. They already influence and are taking a lead on what the future of communication is.

Think about all the potential benefits and values of creating you owned media. With such platform, a CEO can increase his influence and leadership in his community. As business philosopher John C. Maxwell said, “Leadership is more , if not much more, Influence rather than position.”

Now, more than ever, is time to share your expertise, knowledge and to inspire others!

Posted in Uncategorized

In 1993, the Federation Ski International (FIS), the international organizational body for skiing and Olympic skiing voted to recognize snowboarding. FIS therefore organized several events in 1994 and voted to include snowboarding as a discipline in their jurisdiction. Many were opposed to FIS’ control over snowboarding, alleging they didn’t have anything to do with the sport of snowboarding and compared it as if Ice Hockey would manage Curling.

The hopes of ISF, the International Snowboarding Federation, to ever manage the Olympic destiny of Snowboarding, were shattered when IOC recognized FIS as the federation governing the discipline of snowboarding. The 1998 Olympic in Nagano introduced Snowboarding halfpipe to the world and FIS were the one leading its qualification system through FIS’ world cup events. To this day, the FIS is the leading organizational body for Olympic snowboarding and is still not fully respected in the world of snowboarding. While ISF ceased operation in 2002, after losing influence and sponsors to FIS, many observers lead by snowboard legend Terje Haakonsen still question FIS’ involvement in snowboarding. As the discipline of slopestyle is about to enter the Olympic, Terje proposed an alternative to FIS’ monopoly :

‘’We believe a good solution could be a common Olympic ranking, not sanctioned by FIS or TTR, but a joint ranking list based on results from the best events in the world. By embracing this, the IOC would take a credible position for the youth of the world and take charge in the ongoing action sports revolution. We are willing to talk to find a good solution for the sport. But we are also willing to keep fighting for snowboarding like we have done for over a decade. The Olympic system for snowboarding is wrong; preserving the status quo is not an option’’

Shared opinions in the world of Freeskiing emerged lately concerning IOC’s decision to include halfpipe skiing in the 2014 Olympics. Leaders of the sport are questioning the process while others are embracing the decision. Freeskiing, as stated by godfather Mike Douglas, ‘’was created to get away from the political crap, and now, 15 years later, we are right back at it’’. Generally positive about the decision, Douglas puts his trust in the industry and the sport itself to do the right things.

AFP, Association of Freeskiing Profesionnals, the only world and official ranking of Freeskiing has now the possibility to assure a fair overall ranking not strictly determined by FIS world cup points. Major events like the X-Games, the Dew tour and such grew the sport to its present status and needs to be recognized in the Olympic process. AFP leaders are confident about their role and objectives, but the question remains, will halfpipe freeskiers only compete in FIS world tour? Will there be a joint ranking? Will AFP be the official ranking? Let’s hope history won’t repeat itself and freeskiers aren’t going to make the same mistake as snowboarders did 17 years ago…
